National Youth Employment Agency Programme

Gomoa East Metropolis office of the National Youth Employment Agency, held a programme on Wednesday 9th September, 2025, to unveil 35- Community Police Assistants and 15-Fire Assistants who have undergone 3-weeks training and passed out with certificates and posting letters.

The Police had their training at the Koforidua Police Training School, Fire Assistants at the James Town Fire Training School, whiles 11-Prisons Assistants were yet to pass-out from Ankaful Prisons Training School in Cape-Coast.

The Metropolitan Chief Executive for Gomoa East, Hon, Margaret Naana Ackom, urged the beneficiaries to be respectful so that when opportunities come they could be recommended. She added, although the Metropolis is wide, they were the selected few and so they should not joke with the opportunity given them. But be open minded and co-operative to serve the country.                                                                                                                                              

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Gomoa East, Hon, Desmond Degraft Paitoo, has urged the beneficiaries to know and work within their limit and not go after money by extorting from people .He also urged them to work to honor government and themselves for others to also get the opportunity. She also urged them to develop saving habit with the little allowances they would be given each month.

 Police Commander at the Dominase Police Command, Superintendent Irene Oppong Serwaa, assured of her outfit assistance in building the capacity of beneficiaries to help combat crime without discrimination during the period of stay by working with them.

The District Coordinator of the National Apprentice program, Mr. James Donkor asked beneficiaries not to be money conscious in anything they do not understand.                              

The Central East fire commander, Nana Anaman, urged other commanders to assist in growing and supporting and supporting beneficiaries as they begin their service. But should be obedient, and punctual to duty at all times. It is believed beneficiaries would be posted to markets and other places to help augment staff strength of the three services.
