Gomoa East Metropolis on Tuesday 15th April, this year confirmed a 38- year old Margaret Naana Ackom, a civil servant formally of the Non- Formal Education Division with a 100 percent vote cast at the Assembly Hall at Potsin.
Out of a total of 18 votes cast, she polled 17 -yes and 1-no vote decision, more the required two-third majority votes of 12 and was sworn into office by the Central Regional Minister, Hon. Ekow Payin Eduamoah by taking the oath of office.
The Central Regional Minister, Hon. Ekow Payin Eduamoah before the confirmation, called on members of the house both elected and appointed to vote on one time to confirm the presidents nominee to ensure peace and development in the area and appealed to the chiefs and people that the program delayed due to some hitches beyond their control at some of the Districts he visited earlier on.
Before election of the MCE, the magistrate of Awutu Bereku District Court, Her Ladyship Ama Adomako Kwakye, swore 6-appointed members of the Assembly into office before the election of the nominee.
The MCE in a remarks after her confirmation, thanked god first and foremost, her supports and party faithful’s, the Assembly members and all present at the ceremony and appealed to the traditional authorities to give her their support in her administration to be able to develop the area.
