Gomoa East District Assembly as part of activities to mark the National Day of Prayer And Thanksgiving instituted by H.E. President Mahama, held an interdenominational church service at AME Zion Church Potsin, to offer gratitude to God for his continued grace, protection and guidance over the nation.
Preacher for the occasion, Reverend Bismark Abbam, member of the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Church (GPCC) speaking on the theme: Reflect, Reset and Renew with a quotation from Nehemiah 1:1-3, called on all to renew their minds by working hand in hand to transform the fortunes of the nation.
He asked all to let the value of human beings precede all things by placing the love for nation first.
Obrifo Ahun Ahor Ankobea, Omanhene of Gomoa Assin Traditional Council, disclosed he rejoices that the day has been set aside for prayer and thanksgiving. And appealed to all to commit the nation into the hands of God. He also called for all hand on deck to support our leaders to move the country forward.
The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Gomoa East, Hon.Margaret Naana Ackom, disclosed the event was instituted to seek God’s face for direction, peace and unity. She called on families, churches, mosque and traditional leaders to join in prayer for the District and the nation at large.
She asked the people to set aside their differences and unite as a people since unity is the foundation for development.
Whereas development requires the collective effort of all.
The DCE, assured of her continued commitment to inclusive leadership and development that touches every corner of the district. She called for the support of all to Reflect, Reset and Renew not just in words but in action. By rededicating themselves to building a district of peace, opportunity, dignity and prosperity.
Muslim prayers were later said at the Nyanyano Kakraba Mosque for the nation and the district.
